Tonight we discussed the inimitable Richard Avedon.

I was blown away by Avedon’s work and the discussion we had about it. His ability to capture the essence of a person with a portrait is something to behold and strive for. But, by far, the most memorable line of the evening for me was “avoiding the male gaze.” This truly made me think and reflect.
